Genital herpes on
buttocks
Often, genital herpes on buttocks may manifest themselves in such a
condition.
You may dismiss it as a general skin infection but this could actually be a case of genital herpes
infection.
Proper examination, diagnosis and treatment from a qualified health care provider is essential.
Typical areas infected
Typically, genital herpes infection occurs on areas around the genitals.
Thus, parts such as penis shaft or tip, vagina, cervix, vulva, anus etc. are the parts most commonly affected by
a genital herpes infection.
However, sometimes the genetal herpes can occur on unassociated areas as well such as the buttocks.
Genital herpes on buttocks is a common symptom of an impending case of genetial herpes. However, most people
dismiss it as any common skin rash or infection but this is a mistake.
Unknown source of infection
Most people who contract genetal herpes do so from anal, vaginal or oral sex. At times, however, you might
contract the genetial herpes virus through other means like kissing or direct contact with an infected lesion over
a person’s skin.
In such instances, the infection can easily manifest itself on other
unconventional areas like your buttocks. Genital herpes on buttocks is a common sight and appears as small red
dots or pimples on the buttock area.
The causes for genital herpes on buttocks are not often clear and not all of the source of infection is from
sexual contact. Given the fact that genital herpes lesions can occur anywhere on a person’s body and the visible
symptoms take time to appear, anyone can get infected from someone without them even knowing about it!
How it spreads
Genital herpes on buttocks can spread either from the back part of the body or from the front side. Hence, usage
of appropriate protection during sex such as using vinyl or latex condoms is critical to prevent the spread of the
genital herpes infection to your partner.
Even if your partner does not have genetal herpes you need to follow this rule. It is not the same case as when
you have cold sores and genital herpes is highly contagious.
Unlike genital herpes infection on the face, which is easily seen and you can avoid kissing and oral sex in this
manner, genital herpes on buttocks can spread through any sexual contact like vaginal or anal sex.
It could also spread through skin contact. Thus, if there are open infected lesions on your buttocks, your
partner could be contracting genital herpes simply by touching these areas.
If your partner already has genetial herpes then this is not a cause for concern because sexual contact or
touching, kissing etc. cannot spread the genital herpes infection to a person who already has the same
condition!
Treatments
Most methods of treating genital herpes entail usage of antiviral medications. Sometimes, people also prefer
using genital herbal herpes treatment modes such as Echinacea herb, tea tree oil, aloe vera gel etc. In antiviral
methods of treating genital herpes on buttocks you can undergo both episodic and suppressant treatment modes.
In episodic method you have the medications as and when a genital herpes outbreak happens while in suppressant
type of medication you have the medication every day.
