When untreated, the lesions may last until over eight weeks, or even longer. To arrest the propagation of molluscum contagiosum genital warts, an infected person may opt for any of the following medical procedures:
• Laser – dye laser therapy has shown excellent curative efficacy. The treatment rate is at almost one hundred percent, and is quick to administer. However, for certain patients where the lesions and bumps appear at a much later stage, laser and any other surgical processes have to be repeated.

• Imiquimod – it is taken in controlled dosage. Iniquimod prompts the body’s immune system to attack the skin growth-causing viral infection. However, the Food and Drug Administration has not given its nod on the utilization of this procedure.
• Over the counter – Salicylic acid and Tretinoin cream are can be easily bought at your local drug stores.

• Benzoyl peroxide – more effective than tretinoin, around ninety two percent cure rate in six weeks compared to forty five percent for tretinoin.
